Anchor Brewing is one of the most iconic names in American beer—deeply rooted in San Francisco and a pioneer in the craft movement. But in a market flooded with trendy upstarts and ever-changing design trends, the brand was starting to feel a little stuck. The challenge was to breathe new life into a legacy without losing what made it special.

As design director, I helped lead the charge in reimagining the Anchor Brewing brand—evolving its visual identity, packaging, and sub-brand system while staying true to its heritage. From refining typography and modernizing their signature banner, to crafting CGI visuals and collaborating with illustrators for limited-edition cans and bottles, my focus was on honoring the past while building something that felt bold and fresh for the future. The result was a more cohesive, extendable design system that gave Anchor a stronger shelf presence and a renewed connection to its roots in San Francisco.
